Privacy Policy for Disk Deep Cleaner

Disk Deep Cleaner · Last Updated: July 6, 2026

Privacy first: Disk Deep Cleaner does not require an account and never sends the names, paths, or contents of your files to us or anyone. All scanning, analysis, and deletion happen on your Mac. The only information that may leave your Mac is optional, anonymous usage statistics (which you can turn off) and — only if you choose to send feedback — the message and email address you type.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Anonymous Usage Statistics (optional — off with one click)

If left enabled, the app sends anonymous, aggregate usage events to help us improve it. This includes: which features are used (for example, a scan ran, a category was opened, a purchase or restore completed), the app version, coarse device/OS information, and a salted, non-reversible device identifier used only to de-duplicate counts.

This data never includes file names, file paths, file contents, folder structure, or any document you scan or delete. You can disable it at any time from the app menu ("Share Anonymous Usage Statistics"). When disabled, collection stops entirely.

1.2 Feedback You Choose to Send

If you use the in-app feedback form, we receive the message you write and, if you provide it, your email address — used solely to respond to you. Providing feedback and an email is entirely optional.

1.3 Purchases

The one-time "Unlimited Cleaning" purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never receive your payment card or billing details. We only learn, via Apple's on-device StoreKit records, whether your Mac is entitled to the purchase.

1.4 Device Identifier & Usage Counters (stored in your Keychain)

The app stores an anonymous device identifier and your lifetime cleaning totals in your Keychain. If you use iCloud Keychain, these are synced across your devices via your Apple ID — end-to-end encrypted by Apple, never sent to us or visible to Apple. They contain no personal information; their only purpose is to keep the free-tier allowance consistent (so it isn't reset by reinstalling). If iCloud Keychain is off, they stay on the device.

1.5 AI Advisor (Apple Private Cloud Compute)

The disk cleaner runs entirely on your Mac. The optional AI advisor is powered by Apple's Private Cloud Compute: when you use it, a minimal prompt — folder and file names with your username removed, plus sizes — is processed on Apple's privacy-preserving servers and the result is returned to your Mac. Under Apple's Private Cloud Compute guarantees, that data is used only for your request, is not retained, and is not accessible to Apple or to us, and it is never sent to any third-party AI provider or to our own servers. We never receive the names, paths, or contents of your files. (The AI advisor arrives with macOS 27; earlier versions run the cleaner without it.)

2. What We Do NOT Collect

3. How We Use This Information

Only to operate and improve the app: to understand which features are used, diagnose problems, and respond to feedback. We do not sell or rent any data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app/website tracking.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your information with third parties except: (a) Apple, as the App Store operator and payment processor, under Apple's own privacy policy; and (b) our own analytics/feedback infrastructure operated on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law.

5. Data Retention

Anonymous usage events are retained only as long as needed for aggregate analysis and then deleted or further aggregated. Feedback messages are kept as long as needed to address your inquiry.

6. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Your Choices

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Contact Us
