If left enabled, the app sends anonymous, aggregate usage events to help us improve it. This includes: which features are used (for example, a scan ran, a category was opened, a purchase or restore completed), the app version, coarse device/OS information, and a salted, non-reversible device identifier used only to de-duplicate counts.
This data never includes file names, file paths, file contents, folder structure, or any document you scan or delete. You can disable it at any time from the app menu ("Share Anonymous Usage Statistics"). When disabled, collection stops entirely.
If you use the in-app feedback form, we receive the message you write and, if you provide it, your email address — used solely to respond to you. Providing feedback and an email is entirely optional.
The one-time "Unlimited Cleaning" purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never receive your payment card or billing details. We only learn, via Apple's on-device StoreKit records, whether your Mac is entitled to the purchase.
The app stores an anonymous device identifier and your lifetime cleaning totals in your Keychain. If you use iCloud Keychain, these are synced across your devices via your Apple ID — end-to-end encrypted by Apple, never sent to us or visible to Apple. They contain no personal information; their only purpose is to keep the free-tier allowance consistent (so it isn't reset by reinstalling). If iCloud Keychain is off, they stay on the device.
The optional AI advisor runs entirely on your Mac using Apple's on-device Foundation Models. File details used to form a prompt are processed locally and are not transmitted to us or to any server.
Only to operate and improve the app: to understand which features are used, diagnose problems, and respond to feedback. We do not sell or rent any data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app/website tracking.
We do not share your information with third parties except: (a) Apple, as the App Store operator and payment processor, under Apple's own privacy policy; and (b) our own analytics/feedback infrastructure operated on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law.
Anonymous usage events are retained only as long as needed for aggregate analysis and then deleted or further aggregated. Feedback messages are kept as long as needed to address your inquiry.
The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
